Linkpoche questions and answers

Short answers about accounts, sync, privacy, price, and what each feature does.

Download on the App Store

These are answers to the questions people ask most about Linkpoche, a read-later app for iPhone that is free to download and needs no account. Each answer describes version 1.1.0, the current version on the App Store. If your question is not here, contact us through the Support page.

Do I need an account?
No. Linkpoche has no account and no sign-in, and there is no Linkpoche server. Your links and screenshots are stored on your iPhone.
Does Linkpoche sync between devices?
No. There is no sync between devices, and Linkpoche is for iPhone only. To move to a new iPhone, export everything as one zip file and import it, or use your iPhone backup. Import adds links and never overwrites.
How much does Linkpoche cost?
Linkpoche is free to download, and saving is free with no limit, no ads, and no account. Linkpoche Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription: $2.99 on the US App Store as of October 2026. It adds locked and hidden pouches, up to 24 pouches, every color and 12 patterns, photos and 16 new icons for pouches, and reminders that repeat on the days you choose. For refunds, see the Support page.
Can I move my links from Pocket?
Pocket shut down in 2025. Linkpoche cannot import a Pocket export. Import only reads a backup zip exported from Linkpoche. To bring links over, share each one to Linkpoche from any app.
Which devices does Linkpoche work on?
Linkpoche runs on iPhone with iOS 16 or later. The widget and searching by meaning need iOS 17 or later. The AI features need iPhone 15 Pro or later with iOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence turned on.
What languages is the app in?
The app's screens and its App Store page are in English and Japanese. Text in screenshots is read in Japanese and English. This website is also available in other languages so you can read about the app in yours.
Where are my links stored, and what does Linkpoche save?
Your links and screenshots are stored on your iPhone. For a link, Linkpoche saves its address and preview, not a copy of the page, so opening a link needs a connection. A screenshot is kept as a resized copy without location data. Pages behind a login show little, because Linkpoche never signs in.
How do I save a link or a screenshot?
Tap Share in another app and choose Linkpoche. The link is saved and the share sheet closes, so you stay where you were. Screenshots go in the same way from Photos, up to 10 at a time. You can also tap + on Home to paste a link or add screenshots, or use the Save Link action in the Shortcuts app.
What do the swipes do?
In the Inbox, flick the top link down into a pouch. Swipe left to delete, right for Read later. You can change what each swipe does in Settings. With VoiceOver, tap a pouch to put the top link in it.
Can I get back a link I deleted?
Undo stays up for 6 seconds. After that, Recently Deleted keeps your last 50 deleted links, pictures included.
How do pouches work?
You can make up to 8 pouches free. They sit along the bottom of the Inbox, four to a row, within reach of your thumb. Each can hold pouches inside, and those do not count toward the limit. Give each a name, a color, and an icon. Linkpoche Plus adds up to 24 pouches, more colors and patterns, your own photo or a new icon, and locked and hidden pouches. A locked pouch asks for Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, so anyone who can unlock your iPhone can open it.
What is For you, and is there a widget?
For you shows up to 10 links from your pouches each day, and they stay until the next day. The Linkpoche widget comes in small and medium on iOS 17 or later. It shows links from your Inbox, a new one every 30 minutes, and today's For you links when the Inbox is empty. Tap a For you link to open the page through Linkpoche, or an Inbox link to open your Inbox.
What do the AI features do, and is my data sent anywhere for them?
On iPhone 15 Pro or later with iOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence turned on, articles get a two- or three-sentence summary marked AI summary, Light up where it goes makes the pouch that seems to fit glow, Sort for me suggests pouches for up to 50 links, screenshots get a title, and For you picks older links close to your recent saves. Nothing is filed for you. The AI runs on your iPhone, and nothing is sent out for it. Summaries may not be accurate. Each AI feature can be turned off.
What happens on iPhones without Apple Intelligence?
Articles still show a read time and the page's own description. Light up where it goes and Sort for me suggest the pouch you used before for the same site.
Why does a link show little or no preview?
Linkpoche shows what a site publishes for previews and never signs in, so pages behind a login give little. Any site can return nothing or change what it returns. The link is always saved and opens, and you can tap Fetch again.
Why do some links have no summary or read time?
Summaries and read times are for pages with article text. Posts, videos, and home pages do not get them.
What goes over the network?
When you save a link, your iPhone fetches that page directly for its title, picture, description, icon, and article text. The text is used for the read time and summary, then discarded. For posts and videos on some services, such as X and YouTube, Linkpoche also asks that service's public embed endpoint, and those sites see the request as they would from a browser. Screenshots are read on your iPhone and not uploaded. For searching by meaning, iOS may download language files from Apple. Buying or restoring Linkpoche Plus goes through Apple's App Store. The app has no analytics, no ads, and no tracking.
Is Linkpoche connected with X or YouTube?
No. Linkpoche is not affiliated with or endorsed by X or YouTube, and it never signs in to them. For posts and videos on those services, it asks their public embed endpoints for preview details.
